A web developer by day and music nut by night (and weekends).
I grew up by Asbury Park, so music and beach culture have always played a huge role in shaping my life. I graduated Rutgers University in 2009 with a B.A. in Information Technology and have been a web developer (and sometimes graphic designer) ever since. In 2016 I took a look at how far web development has come and realized that it was time to reinvest in my abilities as a developer, so I enrolled in the Rutgers Coding Bootcamp for Full Stack Development and haven't looked back.
I'm incredibly interested in new technology in really any field as long as I find it to have a positive impact on society, especially pertaining to the discovery & curation of music. When I'm not working on web sites and applications, you can usually find me enjoying the company of good friends or at a concert.

With Gargantuan.FM, the user can easily throw on a curated playlist (channel) sourced from SoundCloud or he/she can make their own right from the site. While the music plays, the user also has the ability to change the visual scenery, sourced from curated YouTube playlists.
I worked with Alan Chu & Alisa Schink on this application for our Front End Development Project for Rutgers Coding Bootcamp.
This project was inspired by Poolside.fm and a desire to build something that can be both fun and useful.

Train Scheduler

For our Week 7 homework in Rutgers Coding Bootcamp, we were tasked with creating a Train Schedule application that allows the user to create, edit, or delete a train by entering its name, destination, first time it runs, and frequency. A bonus task was to include user authentication through Firebase in order to see the page's content. I chose to use Google authentication.
All of the train information was stored in Firebase and displayed on the page with the time automatically updating to indicate how many minutes away the next train is and what time it will be arriving.

New York Times Article Search

An article search tool using The New York Times API. The user can submit a search form with multiple query parameters and will see a list of articles published by the New York Times.

Giphy Image Search

Using the Giphy API, the user can retrieve a number of gifs based on the search query. It opens with a preloaded list of buttons to select and search from, but there is also the ability to enter your own search term and add it to the list.
I went with a TV based theme for it, but it isn't limited to TV.

Poor Cat Designs

I have been a collaborator with Poor Cat Designs® since the company's beginning. I was part of the design team that helped brand them and throughout the years have supported them with both their web site (we're on the fourth iteration of their site currently) and various marketing efforts such as magazine advertisements, postcards, business cards, Snapchat filters, and Google Analytics.
Their site is built with WordPress and WooCommerce to make it easy for myself to update their content on a regular basis and for Poor Cat's employees to process and ship online orders.

Keansburg Amusement Park

In a post Hurricane Sandy New Jersey, Keansburg Amusement Park was among those fortunate enough to come out of it relatively unscathed, so there was never a better time for a revamp of their online presence and boost their online ticket and birthday package sales for the park.
Working with the team at Netwave Interactive, we created colorful yet useable eCommerce site with WordPress that we then were able to turn over to the client for day to day updates and maintenance.

Jenkinson's Boardwalk

Over the past ten years, I've been lucky enough to play a part in building the Jenkinson's Boardwalk web site twice. The first time in Drupal, the next in WordPress.
The decision to switch to WordPress made sense because of how hands-on the Jenkinson's staff needs to be on a daily basis with pushing new information onto their site for visitors. Sometimes Drupal is a difficult backend to learn for people juggling a lot of various non-web related tasks, but there was a need for the three main departments of the business to access their part of the site without running the risk of disrupting one another.
Using WordPress Multsite, we were able to build a new site in three sections for Jenkinson's that allowed each department to conduct routine updates on their specific areas of the site without ever having to worry about anything the other departments were doing.
